Make your own spice blends

1. Save all your empty spice bottles, esp. the glass ones.
2. Go to your pantry. I'll bet you have all the herbs and spices necessary to make your own spice blends.
3. Not necessary, but a mortar & pestle can come in handy.
4. Recipes are online.

Examples:
Cajun spice
Sazon seasoning
Adobe seasoning
Italian seasoning
Tony Chachere's More Spice seasoning
Seasoned salt
Garam Masala
Herbes de Provence
Caribbean Spice blend
Curry (there must be 100 different recipes!)
Old Bay (for fish and seafood)

To make reasonably priced lemon pepper:

Buy organic lemons, peel, dry peels thoroughly, grind
Add peppercorns, grind together
Add salt if you like to make lemon pepper salt

A fraction of the cost. Apply the recipe to the bottle for when you run out.
