Related: About this forumHere's my second decorated cake for the Illinois State Fair.
This is in the stained glass style. I'm entering it in the wedding/anniversary cake category. The other one is in birthday cakes.

(27,791 posts)I used to decorate cakes - nothing so beautiful or elaborate - for my niece and nephew's birthdays. I had to learn basic cake decorating when I managed a Baskin Robins, while in college.

(4,682 posts)Glass mosaic lampshades are classics. You must own such a shade which inspired your beautiful decorated cake creation. Good luck in the competition!

(88,705 posts)That's not a cake. That's a sculpture! It's ART! WAY too beautiful to merely eat. That belongs in a well-known public garden or in an art exhibit! Or at least shown off in a high-end bakery or confectioners display. You could even have cards made with this on the front. After all, Christmas is coming. It'd make a great gift - either picture-postcards or the folding kind with envelopes. If I owned a bakery, that's what I'd do with it.
DAYUM!!! Absolutely exquisite! Glad you took photos!

(2,258 posts)For me, it shows simplicity in that the lines of the cake itself are clean, yet the design is so complicated and the glaze so perfectly imitates stained glass. It definitely deserves to win. Congratulations!
