Shots, and more shots

Got my annual flu shot on Monday.

Then yesterday I got a pneumonia shot and my second shingles shot.

Flu shot was fine. Didn’t hurt, no reaction. Yay.

The other two? I feel like shit. My arm hurts and I’m achy and exhausted. I’m pretty sure it’s not covid, though that’s flittering through my mind. And this will probably pass. But I feel awful. Stayed home today and napped part of the day. Still tired and achy.

Anyone else have this reaction to one or of these shots?

1. The first shingles shot..

knockd me out for ten days with swollen arm, fever, and muscle aches. The second one did the same, but for only two or three days. Any one of those could give you the muscle aches, but I’ll bet the shingles is the culprit.

Every muscle in my body hurt, I couldn't eat, the shot site hurt like hell, and I was more than exhausted. The second shot, not a thing and those other never bothered me. I feel for you. Just remember to drink a lot of water. 😊

3. Yesterday got the flu shot, today very slight upper arm

sensation. For pneumonia and shingles, I'll space those out 2 weeks or more as health people advised and other relatives have done. For me, I wouldn't get vaccines close together unless it's critical.

In the past, I used to get slightly sick after flu shots, so I'm more sensitive.

Shingles shots can cause discomfort for a couple days I've heard.

4. My arm hurt for a solid week after both of my shingles shots

Someone else here said that the second shot didn't hurt as much so I guess it's different for everyone. I also had a tetanus shot when I had a physical last month and that hurt for a week as well. So you're not alone. I can't remember having a sore arm after shots I had as a kid.

5. I almost never have any reaction to shots. Only once did I have any reaction.

That was last year when I got my second shingles shot. The reaction was some tiredness, but for me that was an unexpected reaction.
Got my flu shot last week and felt nothing.

Well I should say except when I would get a shot to give white cells. That was meant to make me sick and it usually did its job very well.

6. The new shingles shots really let you know there in there, don't they? Aches, swelling,

redness, hot skin --- but it goes away, finally! Flu shot was minor for me. I got the pneumonia shots a few years ago and I don't remember what they were like, but of all the shots in the last 10 years, Zingrix was def the worst. I accidentally banged the affected arm on a door frame and thought I was gonna cry, it hurt so much.

I'm also due for tetanus as well. I hate getting shots. I sometimes pass out, and this has been a bad year so far for my anxiety.

8. Both shingles shot put me back for about 3 days with flu-like shit.

The second one was in April so of course I thought I had Covid. Each shot made my arm sore for a several days but that was minor compared to feeling awful.

You really took it on with 3 in a week.

Tylenol will help a lot with those aches. You should feel a little better tomorrow, but people tell me it takes several days to recover.

The Pneumovax wasn't a big deal the second time I had it. The first shot was so bad I couldn't lift my right arm for a week. I'd just gotten over pneumonia, third time that year, which is why I got it in my late 30s.

10. Pnumonia shot kicked my ass

Arm got inflamed sore and red looked like cellulitis.

Had low fever, chills, muscle aches from hell.
The flu like symptoms lasted 2 days.

My inflamed arm lasted 4 days. After the 4 days it itched like hell for a few more days.

I got flu and Pnumonia shots at the same time in the same arm...never again. I'll get them separately in both arms next time.
