The Russian economy is currently undergoing a catastrophic financial liquidation event as the Kremlin struggles to manage a sovereign debt crisis driven by war and corruption. This video analyzes the fiscal collapse of the Russian Federation where oil and gas revenues have plummeted by 27 percent year over year. The resulting loss of capital has created a massive 50 billion USD budget gap that is forcing the state to cannibalize its own strategic industries. We examine how deep strikes on energy infrastructure are accelerating this economic downturn and pushing the banking system toward a total default on its domestic obligations.
The internal decay has evolved into widespread insurance fraud and financial theft within the military leadership. Commanders are now accused of falsifying official records to list dead soldiers as deserters to avoid paying the mandatory 150,000 USD death gratuity and insurance claims to grieving families. This systematic theft allows officers to embezzle state funds while troops are forced to spend their own salaries on basic tactical gear and medical supplies dating back to 1977. Simultaneously prosecutors are seizing luxury assets and real estate worth over 14 million USD from corrupt officials like Timur Ivanov. We discuss the 13-year prison sentences and the purge of the FSB that is exposing the financial rot at the heart of the Defense Ministry.
Ukraine is executing a high yield investment strategy by targeting the most valuable assets in the Russian portfolio including the Ryazan refinery and Alchevsk steel plant. These strikes are effectively bankrupting the Russian war machine by severing its access to foreign currency markets. With total personnel losses estimated at one million the United States views the 64 percent public support for aid as a sound strategic investment in global security. This video covers the analysis from experts like Jason Jay Smart regarding how sustained economic pressure is forcing the Kremlin into a position of insolvency.

(30,907 posts)1. Putin has created police units that are ordered to shoot deserters,
The dead soldiers are left on the battlefield and are declared AWOL to save Putin payments for their deaths.

Russia is bankrupt--monetarily and morally. Putin obviously does not care about his own people, or his military personnel. I get incensed when I see crap about what Ukraine should give up just to pacify Putin's greed and blood lust. I hope wiser heads in Europe prevail.
