Russians In Economic Panic: Is Russia's Central Bank Freezing Retail Bank Deposits? - Econ Lessons

In theory if the the Russian Central bank is freezing Russian retail bank assets then this would create a systemic shock in the monetary sector that would have an effect through the real economy.

According to Austrian business cycle theory it would send the banking sector in Russia into a bank panic. Although official sources from Moscow deny this, the potential for something unusual going on in the Russian banking sector could exist as unofficial sources tell a different story. This video does not confirm or suggest the state of the Russian banking sector rather it poses the hypothetical question on a theoretical level, that if this state existed what would be the economic impact based on economic theory from the early 20th century in monetary economics.
