President Lula sent a message to Zuckerberg, Metas CEO, on Thursday (9), asserting that no individual can believe they have the right to violate a nation's sovereignty.
His statement came after being asked about the company's decision to end its fact-checking program in the U.S. "I will hold a meeting today to discuss this issue. I think it is extremely serious for people to expect digital communication to lack the same accountability as someone committing crimes in the print media," he said.

"As if someone could be punished for actions in real life but not for doing the same thing digitally. What we really want is for each country to have its sovereignty respected. No one, whether one, two, or three individuals, can think they can undermine the sovereignty of a nation," he added.
