Maybe not announcing today because of Munich!?

Edited to add: Hugh Hewitt (Gag me with a spoon!) told Tweety that if it's Kaine, Sanders supporters would gather their Woodstock napsacks and start listening to Trump's speech or vote for Jill Stein.
