GOP bucking business priorities on Capitol Hill
Associated Press Updated: June 30, 2014 at 5:00 am

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Republican Party has long been closely allied with the business community but strains in the relationship are showing on Capitol Hill.

The most recent fight was over reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank, a government agency that helps U.S. exporters. It's a business priority, but conservatives are opposed.

Even though it's a minor matter to most voters it's turned into a defining issue on Capitol Hill.

That's only the most recent example of the GOP bucking business priorities on issues including immigration and highway spending.

Congressional republicans don't want anything that might make the president look good. They hate Obama more than they love business.
