Could putting Jones(D-AL) on the 2020 Democratic Ticket for VP help Democrats in the south.

Jones(D-AL) is not favored to win re-election to his AL US Senate seat in 2020 or win AL-9ev as the Democratic VP nominee.
Jones(D-AL) is likely to win in-
GA-16(248ev) Democratic US Senate nominees Tomlinson-D and Warnock-D gets elected. 48D US Sen.
NC-15(263ev) Democratic US Senate nominee Cunningham-D gets elected. 49D US Sen.
AZ-11(274ev) Democratic US Senate nominee Kelly-D gets elected. 50D US Sen.
CO(274ev) Democratic US Senate nominee Hickenlooper-D gets elected. 51D US Sen.
MI(291ev) US Senator Peters- gets re-elected.

Jones(D-AL) has a strong civil rights record.

Jones(D-AL) is more likely to become Vice President or Attorney General than get re-elected to the US Senate.

Doug Jones is allowed to run for re-election to his AL US Senate seat and run for Vice President.
Joe Biden(2008- ran for re-election to his DE US Senate seat and ran for VP with Obama.)
If Jones does not win re-election to his AL US Senate seat- he is likely to become VP and AG.
