Associated Press in Hutchinson

Great Bend obstetrician Roger Marshall won the tough contest against Huelskamp in the 1st District, which spans western and much of central Kansas.
Marshalls supporters argued Huelskamps combativeness harmed the district. Huelskamp lost his seat on the House agriculture committee in 2012; farm groups turned against him and many Republican voters saw it as a crucial issue in a farm state.
Marshall, from the central Kansas community of Great Bend, received endorsements from the Kansas Farm Bureau, Kansas Livestock Association, National Association of Wheat Growers and the US Chamber of Commerce.

(12,557 posts)2. We have family in Kansas.
They told us the guy who ran against him looked like a moderate republican. They also said republicans they know are turning against that wing of their party because of what is happening to the schools in Kansas under Brownback.
I know this guy would not impact schools, but that issues is driving voters across the board in Kansas right now.
Buyers remorse.....
