If the printer takes a cartridge that's available, then maybe. No CRT market. LeftInTX Dec 2024 #5

I just read an article that said they recycle them to retrofit old products.
Best Buy used to have a barrel at the door.

That's why places will take your old gear without b-tching. They get paid to do so.

You already paid for the recycling. Nobody wants the really old stuff. Charities can't sell it.

Excludes collector's items, which you don't sound like you have.

I have an old HP all-in-one that actually will scan multiple pages via sheet feed, so even after I've given up on it as a printer, it does what the much nicer scanner won't do.

There are videos on YouTube that show you how to strip them down for the precious metals. Dunno how many old printers you would need - couple of hundred?

Send the CRT monitor to hazardous waste.

A printer older than 10 years probably won't have a market. It depends. Check availability of cartridges etc. If printer is damaged in any way, no one will want it. I had a Brother printer that lasted 11 years. The circuit finally went bad. If the machine was still in good shape, I could probably still purchase toner and the drum.

Old printers may have second lives as scanners. (I've got an old printer that doesn't print...jets clogged) However, it scans.
