Who takes Durbin's IL US Senate seat when Durbin decides not to seek re-election?
In 2026, Durbin is up for re-election. He will be 82 years old and in elected office for 44 years.
1)Nikki Budzinski- US Representative from a downstate IL district which is what Durbin was when he got elected to the US Senate in 1996.
2)Raja Krishnamoorthi- US Representative from Tammy Duckworth’s US House District before she got elected to the US Senate in 2016.
