(11,969 posts)wants to make it worse. He reported that the town of Merritt had only one way out through a winding highway to Kamloops. Firstly it is the Coquihalla Hwy which is a 4 lane, sometimes 6 lane, divided highway and is not winding. Secondly there is another 4 land divided highway to Kelowna they can also take. I do not see the need to make it sound worse than it already is. Obviously he has never driven these highways.

(19,023 posts)We had a couple of extreme heat waves this summer, resulting in nearly 600 deaths in BC. Extreme heat means increased evaporation of lakes and oceans.
That water doesnt just disappear into outer space, it eventually comes back to earth in the form of rain- in this case, a tremendous amount of rainfall, much of it condensed into just a few days, but October was something like 160% of average rainfall as well.
