Bench warrant issued for former campground owner after she fails to appear in court
SHAWANO COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - A bench warrant has been issued for a former Shawano County campground owner who failed to show up for court Thursday.
Ann Retzlaff was due to appear in court for a pre-trial hearing. Online court records show she was not in court, but her attorney was there. A nationwide bench warrant was authorized by the court. That authorizes law enforcement to arrest her for not obeying court orders.
Retzlaff, the former owner of Annies Campground in Gresham, is facing multiple charges stemming from a six-mile chase with deputies through Shawano and Menominee Counties.
Shes also been charged with bail jumping for allegedly failing to abide by court orders.
Retzlaff has argued that she is a sovereign citizen and not under the jurisdiction of law enforcement and avoided court hearings for months until bench warrants were issued for her arrest.

(40,915 posts)Would she mind if other SCs decided to confiscate her property/possessions?
She certainly would not want our legal system to investigate/prosecute.
??? For sure!
Ridiculous? Of course. Just using her logic.

(8,912 posts)playing with a full deck. I walk several miles every day and they usually stop and talk to me about all kinds of stuff. I learned a valuable trick from a retired US Marshall....if you will talk very little and just listen when you meet someone they will fill the void of silence and usually tell you everything you would ever want to know about them.
One bought a truck and then refused to make payments, claiming it was illegal according to US Code xxxx - it was eventually repossessed. The other refuses to get a drivers license, etc. Cops have jailed him more than once. It is amazing the kind of people you can find in rural Texas. They can hide out for the most part and cops seldom mess with them until they get out in the public - usually because they have multiple arrest warrants.
