Seattle entrepreneurs seek space for tech-forward sports park
A trio of Seattle entrepreneurs is seeking real estate in the Ballard area for a tech-forward indoor venue for soccer and basketball.
The project, called Ballard Sports Park, is led by Ballard FC President Sam Zisette, Seattle Storm sales and hospitality manager Zac Dykan and software engineer Jack Forbes.
The group seeks to fill a gap in Ballard's recreational sports options, aiming to bring the "next generation of indoor soccer and basketball." to the neighborhood. The plan is for three 50-by-80-foot mini soccer fields, one full-size basketball court, concessions and a small gym.
The fields would have a recording system using three 4K cameras that stitch together footage into a single panoramic feed for players to watch. The system would also use Forbes' custom-built ball-tracking technology, tools that will produce AI-generated highlight reels after each game.
