Snohomish PUD reopens appliance upgrade program

EVERETT — Snohomish Public Utility District customers have another chance to apply for power-saving appliance upgrades.

The utility company is reopening its Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates program, which distributes energy-efficient washers, dryers, stoves and heat pump water heaters to qualifying customers. Customers can find out if they’re eligible for the program through an online survey found on the PUD website.

In May the state’s Department of Commerce awarded $40 million in grants to local electrification projects across Washington.

Snohomish PUD received $5.3 million of Climate Commitment Act dollars for its program, the most in the state according to PUD staff.
