North Myrtle Beach announces special election to fill vacant council seat This ad will end in 12 seconds

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - North Myrtle Beach is looking to fill a city council seat left vacant by now mayor J.O. Baldwin.

The Municipal Election Commission of the City of North Myrtle Beach announced a special election for Tuesday, February 24, 2026, to fill a vacant city council seat.

The special election will fill the unexpired term for the Crescent Beach Ward, which became vacant after J.O. Baldwin won the mayoral election in November 2025, leaving his council seat open. The position carries a term from March 2026 through November 2027.

Residents must register to vote by Saturday, January 24, 2026. Registration is available online at www.scvotes.gov or by contacting the Horry County Board of Voter Registration at (843) 915-5440.
