A six-alarm fire rages out of control Wednesday night, June 24, 2026, at a former furniture factory in the 300 block of North Front Street in Allentown. It was reported around 8:40 p.m., and firefighters arrived to find heavy flames engulfing the large vacant commercial structure. Authorities announced Friday the arrests of two juveniles on arson and related charges in Wednesday nights massive fire that gutted a former furniture factory and displaced dozens of neighboring residents.
The two were being held in juvenile detention and face charges including arson, reckless endangerment, conspiracy and causing a catastrophe, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan and Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca announced.
One firefighter was injured during the response, which grew to six alarms, bringing in manpower and trucks from surrounding communities.
Several properties on North Front Street were destroyed in the blaze, according to Holihans office.
Authorities were not immediately identifying the juveniles names or releasing further information.
