Weird seeing pictures of tonight's tornado in my old hometown of Norman. Hopefully that will be the end of it and we can say the hype was overblown.

I haven't checked this morning, but early reports said my grade school was severely damaged.

Was it Jackson Elementary? I noticed that school in the damage report because my wife taught there before we moved here to Illinois. The first report of it I saw on news9.com said viewers reported it was "virtually wiped out" but that the reports couldn't be substantiated. We kind of freaked out about that. Later I saw a KOCO story that said it was damaged. Still unsure of the extent of damage in reality, but the first map I saw of the tornado path looked like it went pretty close by
Given the path that took, Norman was quite fortunate last night that damage (including to people) was not more serious.
