Marches planned across North Dakota ahead of Trump's inauguration
FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - Marches are planned in several cities ahead of President-elect Donald Trumps inauguration on Monday, January 20.
ERA NOW, North Dakota Human Rights Coalition, and Planned Parenthood NCS are joining forces to host Peoples March: Day of Action. Events are planned in Grand Forks, Fargo, Jamestown, Bismarck and Minot.
Saturday, January 18 marks two days before President-elect Donald Trump takes office. Groups and citizens across the nation are organizing events to bring people together in what they are calling a fight for human rights.
I believe now is a crucial time to show up. People are looking to build community with others who share similar values like support of public education, healthcare for all, and the rights of immigrants and the LGBTQ+ community. If there isnt a voice pushing back against the extreme Trump agenda, democracy is lost, states Molly Haagenson, ERA NOW board member.
The event in downtown Grand Forks is happening on Saturday, January 18, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Participants are invited to meet outside of Urban Stampede at 324 Kittson Avenue at 1:00 p.m. before making their way to the Sorlie Bridge on DeMers Avenue to march in solidarity with others across the nation.
