NC voters could be questioned about citizenship under new elections rule

Some North Carolina voters could receive notices questioning their citizenship under a new State Board of Elections process aimed at verifying voter eligibility.

The system would compare state voter registration data with a federal database run by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The North Carolina State Board of Elections has records for most voters, including names, birth dates and the last four digits of Social Security numbers.

If the state’s information matches federal records, no action is taken. If it doesn’t match, county election officials would then be tasked with reviewing state records and other databases to confirm eligibility.

And, I wonder how many times it will not match, based on the person's race and socioeconomic factors? OldBaldy1701E 4 hrs ago #1

A 'culling' device is still a 'culling' device, regardless of what they say when they are implementing it.

Typical rethug actions. Our rule is in danger, so it's time to make shit up.
