Today, a North Carolina judge rejected a request from the Republican National Committee (RNC), North Carolina GOP, Wake County GOP and two voters to toss out nearly 60,000 ballots cast in all November 2024 statewide races.
The ruling comes against the backdrop of concurrent legal challenges brought by the losing GOP candidate for North Carolina Supreme Court Seat 6, Jefferson Griffin, who is relentlessly contesting his defeat to incumbent Democratic Justice Allison Riggs that was confirmed by two separate recounts.
The certification of Riggs victory by the North Carolina State Board of Elections currently remains on hold as a result of a Jan. 7 order from the Republican-dominated state Supreme Court issued in one of Griffins ongoing contests.
Largely similar to Griffins cases, Republicans legal bid mounts challenges to tens of thousands of ballots cast by voters whom the GOP alleges unlawfully failed to provide drivers license or social security numbers on their voter registration applications. However, unlike Griffins lawsuits, the recent GOP action did not raise claims against ballots cast by certain overseas voters.

(24,518 posts)the proof that they didn't provide Driver's licenses, SS numbers, etc. And what happens when someone isn't a driver, doesn't have a driver's license? How did the gop get these massive numbers too, 60,000 people? Must be the number that their candidates lost by.

(3,339 posts)And I live in NC, so Im familiar with these Republican fuckers.
Here is what I dont get: every other election in NC has been certified. How can any court rule that 60,000 votes can be tossed for this one Supreme Court election, but not for all the other elections? I have never heard of votes being disallowed in one race, but not in others from the same election.
