NEW YORK CITY -- The infant daughter of FDNY firefighter Jerel La Santa has died of coronavirus, according to the FDNY Hispanic Society.
Jay-Natalie La Santa was 5 months old.
"My baby girl was so beautiful," her mother, Lindsey La Santa, said.
The FDNY said La Santa was appointed to the title of firefighter less than a year ago, in November of 2019.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the La Santa family during this tragic time," the department said in a statement.

due to his job, but how would he escape getting it while his daughter did not?

(25,183 posts)7. My family went through the loss
of a child decades ago when my 2 year old nephew died from cancer. It was tragic and painful.
But to lose a 5 month old infant. At that age, you've had time to bond and develop an attachment, but you're still marveling at the newness of this little human. And then it's over.
