Cult45 member and Paul Ryan protege, Congresswoman Stefanik will be there and I'm really hoping it hurts her chances for re-election.

'Nothing bodes well': Lackluster election results spark debate over Trump's midterm role
A new round of lackluster showings by Republican candidates reignited a debate Wednesday within the GOP over whether President Trump will be a drag on the partys chances in November and should stay out of some of the countrys most hotly contested races.

(24,259 posts)Right out of office. I haven't run across any decent recent polls done on Stefanik vs Cobb have you? All I could find was a Rasmussen page saying this district is a strong R.
I'm curious if the tape of Cobb saying she's for an assault weapons ban that the teen Cult45 member sold to Stefanik's campaign has hurt her. It's outrageous to me that she felt she couldn't say she's for THAT particular up here. This area is very hunting and shooting oriented but I did t think they were quite that nuts.
Oh and neighbor.

(227,832 posts)Back when I worked for Scott Murphy's campaign (2009 and 2010), there were definitely one-issue voters - and they counted on that A rating from the NRA, same as Gillibrand, though she has since changed her stance. The issue here is about Stefanik's "dirty tricks" and the letters I've seen in the paper are mainly accusations about that - including an editorial!
Editorial: Our political parties have become evil enterprises
We are disheartened by the events of this past week when we learned that a national political organization recruited and perhaps trained a 17-year-old high school student in the art of political dirty tricks.
This is what our politics have come to, and anyone who supports it is culpable.
Our morality and any sense of right and wrong our politicians claim to have are at stake here.
We are disgusted, and the they all do it excuse does not make us feel any better.
What once would have been respectable volunteer work for a high school student looking to learn how a democracy works and how a political campaign operates has been tainted by professional operatives looking for any edge to discredit their opponents even if it means using a 17-year-old high school student.

(24,259 posts)But I've long disliked 'dirty trick's and the tactic of using 'kids' as weapons and/or lawns in adult BS games.
I ran across articles saying that not only had they paid the kid to record her but the kid is now an intern of Stefanik's.
Rhiannon12866
(227,832 posts)And Stefanik started before she even had an opponent - this kid did his secret recordings back in May. And he's definitely with the Stefanik campaign, they call him an "unpaid intern..." He just wasn't paid by her...
Stefanik says teen who taped Cobb video is unpaid intern
GLENS FALLS U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik on Wednesday said the 17-year-old who secretly recorded Democratic opponent Tedra Cobb is currently an unpaid intern for her campaign, but said she did not know about the video he taped in May before he began working for her.
Preston Scagnelli was the teen identified as recording Cobb at a Teens for Tedra event a couple of months ago. Cobb made comments on the video stating that she thinks assault weapons should be banned, but added that she cannot take that position publicly and get elected in the NY-21 Congressional District.
Stefanik, R-Willsboro, said that Scagnelli began interning in June. She said she plans to keep him on the campaign and said she did not have an issue with the fact that Scagnelli used the fake name Grayson and said he was not recording because his phone was dead, but he actually was.
<snip>
Scagnelli was paid nearly $1,000 by the National Republican Congressional Committee for his research materials consulting, which likely included the Cobb video and other instances where he tracked Cobb. The video was uploaded to the YouTube channel Democrat Tracking and picked up by national Republicans and the conservative Washington Free Beacon website.

(24,259 posts)that Stefanik reveals in this comment is certainly not something I'd choose a candidate I vote for to have:
she did not have an issue with the fact that Scagnelli used the fake name Grayson and said he was not recording because his phone was dead, but he actually was.
Ethics and integrity should be important and encouraged. If you stoop to dirty tricks and cheating it means you either have no real issues to run on and/or you want to distract from actions you're trying to hide.
