Bergenfield incumbents coast

Incumbents Marc Pascual and Domingo Almonte won Democratic nominations for two Bergenfield borough council seats, easily turning back a challenge from Dr. Nelson Reynoso, a psychology professor at Bronx Community College.

Pascual led the field with 1,573 votes, followed by Almonte with 1,329. Reynoso finished third with 763 votes.

No Republicans filed for borough council.

Bergenfield remains a Democratic stronghold. Kamala Harris carried the borough by ten points in the 2024 presidential election, a sharp drop from previous Democratic margins, but Mikie Sherrill expanded the party’s advantage and carried Bergenfield by 23 points in the 2025 gubernatorial race.
