SADDLE BROOK -- A Saddle Brook doctor who was sentenced to more than three years in prison for taking about $200,000 in bribes to refer patients to a particular blood testing lab was ordered by the state to never again practice medicine in New Jersey again.
Bernard Greenspan, 79, was sentenced in late June to 41 months in prison, a year of supervised release and was ordered to pay $125,000 in fines.
Greenspan was indicted in March 2016, and was one of more than 40 people convicted of taking part in a large and complex kickback scheme run by the Parsippany-based Biodiagnostic Laboratory Service.
He was found guilty on all counts of the 10-count indictment, including wire fraud, conspiracy and violations of a federal anti-kickback statue.
