Gianforte says he's considering new run for Montana governor

Republican U.S. Rep. Greg Gianforte says he's considering another run for Montana governor in 2020.

The second-term congressman lost to the incumbent, Democratic Gov. Steve Bullock, in 2016. Bullock's leaving office due to term limits, and Gianforte would be joining a growing field of Republicans seeking to re-claim the seat for the GOP.

Gianforte spokesman Travis Hall said Tuesday that the congressman "is seriously considering a run for governor" after receiving strong encouragement from the Montanans he meets throughout the state.

Hall declined to elaborate or say when Gianforte is expected to make a decision.

an in person town hall, is one of the richest men in this state, and a gazillion other reasons to say no. Hell no!

And he can't run for Congress at the same time. So when he loses it's a double bonus for us.

I want that man out of government.
