(32,606 posts)My original cedar railing system was shot after 25 years from neglect.
I got the design inspiration from a brewery bar deck in Littleton, NH. Rebar and pressure treated 2 x 4 with a 5/4 x6 capper.

(26,593 posts)I lost the link with the realtime foliage map.
Made many trips in the past to NH, VT and ME. Saved my vacation time for leaf peeping. Since those days, It's earlier, no? I recall Oct 12 for a good date.

(26,593 posts)My ex visited ( by airplane) her friend in NY and they camped in VT. It was pretty good. No photo dump yet. Jet lag.
I used the opportunity to scan some ancient medium format slides with the 45 mpix Nikon. I don't think that a (new) scanner would do better (maybe a little bit) with decent results. I'll refine this. The slides are worth preserving electronically. A little at a time.
Electronically touching up the slides will be a bit of time travel. And less worry.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
