We just got our power back @ 5PM after losing it Monday morning. Hope everyone's safe out there.

(32,617 posts)Solar/batteries kept me with power. Snow completely gone. Ground only frozen about 3". No lakes are really frozen. Yeah, this ain't right.
How did you deal with it?

(103,812 posts)And other Mainers this week, glad it wasn't devastating at your home.
The weather is weird over here too. We've been in the +40s and 50s every day for weeks. There's a little snow on the peaks but I don't think the ground is even frozen. I've taken to watering my succulents outside because it's really dry too.
This ain't right at all.

(19,422 posts)Lost power Monday at about 10am. Too windy for the linemen to climb poles or use the bucket lifts. Power came back at about 10pm after wind subsided.

(19,422 posts)Some tree cracked and some were blown over ripping the root ball right out of the ground by the base of the trees. The long needle Douglas Pines took a beating.
Cold the last few days - but back up to 45 degrees for about the next week. Then more seasonable chill - barely in the 30s during the day.

(6,473 posts)But the friend who came to stay until her power came on accidentally brought along some Covid to share. Almost 4 years without catching it. Guess it was my turn.
I dont feel that great, TBH.

(6,473 posts)I am sorry for my friend, and worried. She is 90 and lives alone. Her Christmas is derailed. I was planning on basking in solitude anyway.
