(103,809 posts)But I convinced a tree trimming service to dump 40cu yds of chip in my yard to make walkways and patios. The was some 20 yrs ago but it worked out nicely and it was wonderful to wet down in summer for the swamp cooler effect. I just went by the place earlier today, the new inhabitants seem to like the idea and have kept most of it the way I had it landscaped, some of my young tree-lings are now good sized trees.
Chip is a great landscaping element. What kind of trees are you chewing up?

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
