Abortion ban enforcement and transparent health care prices in new round of Gov. Braun's executive orders
Indiana's governor signed nine executive orders focused on health care reform in the state.
INDIANAPOLIS Indiana Gov. Mike Braun signed another slew of executive orders on his second week on the job. This time, the orders were focused on health care.
On Jan. 22, 2025, Braun signed nine new executive orders at the Indiana Statehouse. Here's what they do:
EO 25-20 - requires the Department of Health to report terminated pregnancies as required by law
EO 25-21 - requires state agencies to improve price transparency for health care services
EO 25-22 - calls for an audit of the value of care nonprofit hospitals provide vs. their tax savings
EO 25-23 - orders state agencies to improve affordability regarding surprise billing, pharmacy benefit managers and drug prices
EO 25-24 - calls for an audit of Medicaid and State Employee Health Plan spending by FSSA and the State Personnel Department
EO 25-25 - calls on FSSA to create a dashboard to streamline programs, improve quality and cost of care
EO 25-26 - calls for state agencies to share data more efficiently
EO 25-27 - tells state agencies to look into using a drug discount program
EO 25-28 - tells the Department of Insurance to allow health insurance to allow split-risk pools
