Driver sentenced to 12 years in 151-mph crash that killed 6 Florida farm workers

Noah Galle was 17 years old when he crashed his BMW at 151 mph in western Palm Beach County, killing six workers who were heading home from Pero Family Farms late on a night nearly three years ago. He will spend the entirety of his 20s in prison, after pleading guilty in their deaths.

The Jan. 27, 2022, crash on State Road 7 west of Delray Beach immediately killed five of the six farm workers. Galle was sentenced Monday to just under 12-and-a-half years in state prison for six counts of vehicular homicide, followed by seven years of probation, according to court records and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Galle’s attorneys argued in a court motion that there were mitigating factors for the Wellington teen, saying he had severe health issues at the time of the crash. Several experts would have testified at trial that Galle possibly experienced a “syncope event” and lost consciousness, the motion said, when he smashed into the back of the Nissan Rogue being driven by 44-year-old Mirlaine Innocent Julceus.

But deputies said that Galle had a history of speeding at more than 100 mph, having just weeks earlier recorded a video of himself driving the same BMW at 182 mph on Interstate 95, according to a probable cause affidavit for his arrest. Someone had tipped off authorities about videos of Galle “driving at an extremely high rate of speed” that he posted on Instagram and TikTok.

Galle “is extremely remorseful for his actions” and started a nonprofit called Helping Loving Hands, Inc., through which he raised more than $100,000 for the victims’ families, his attorneys said in the Jan. 3 court motion. A doctor and expert witness reviewed Galle’s medical history and diagnosed him with Dysautonomia and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, both which can cause dizziness, fainting and vision issues.

Maybe he shouldn’t be driving at all.

parking lot. The poor kids would honk on me. "Daddy's boy," "Little Rich Blue Boy," (The vette was blue. Daddy didn't wanna pay the extra for fire engine red) and "Little Richy Rich."

Affluenza is nothing to laugh at. I hope your kids never suffer from it.

Yes, Barney, it's sarcasm.

'Twould have been nice for the opportunity to personally fight the temptation of boundless wealth.

But don't ruin your kid's lives. Don't give 'em anything more than enough to buy a box of Chiclets a week.
