Anyone watch the ebola hearings from DC?

DeGette queried about training protocols for medical personnel. As always, she was respectful toward those on the panel.

Gardner demanded to know how many US flights go TO west Africa. And he got all huffy when the panelist was clearly stunned by the inanity of the question.

Rather massive contrast.

you're right. Diana, as always, was trying to get real info about the gear used during the incidents and had done her homework. And then there was our candidate for the Senate whose only intent was to bash Frieden (and Obama) and lead the march of the Republicans toward banning all travel from West Africa . After the hearing I heard him mocking Frieden's reasons that fencing off West Africa would only make it harder to control ebola there.
Cong. Scalise from Louisiana was even worse than Gardner, rude, hammering, not giving Frieden a chance to answer all his accusations and demanding that Frieden tell the White House to stop travel today. Since I have dear family in New Orleans I am always saddened for them. And it looks like Mary Landrieu, their only sane congressional rep won't be able to hold her seat.
I am terrified of what the Senate will look like if Gardner and Cassiday (a Tea Party candidate) unseat Udall and Landrieu.
