How does one find out which candidates are remaining in the election?

I don't want to waste my vote on someone who's dropped out of the election.
How can I find out which candidates are still viable on the ballot form?

My hope was that 54 egotists would have withdrawn from the Governor's race by now. But I don't want to have to wade through multiple jurisdictions (counties, districts, etc) worth of candidates and races to find answers.

TIA (Thanks in advance)

Like many others, I've been waiting to see who is polling better (and doesn't get hit with a last-minute scandal). It's Friday and the election is next Tuesday, so I hope that all the undecideds make up their minds and vote in time for it to count! I made use of both cadem.org and ballotpedia.org to help me figure out who and which measures to vote for.

I've been vacillating between Becerra and Steyer. I'm not totally thrilled with either one, but decided to go with Becerra since he's in the lead right now. We cannot have a republican as our governor, especially since the main two are obviously Trump-loving morons.

Therefore leaving the choice until Monday, or even Tuesday, to prevention voiding the vote by any last minute changes to the field or options.
Just make sure the ballot is submitted by the closing time on Tuesday.
(Submission by US Mail at their last collection time on Tuesday is apparently too late if rump's new dictates count for anything in a primary.)

5. I'm dropping off my ballot tomorrow

Yesterday

Our local Democratic Club is having our Blue Wave Brunch Saturday morning and afterward I'll return home, mark my ballot, and put it in the dropoff ballot box at our library. Our guest speaker is Shirley Webber, California Secretary of State and I'm sure one of the topics will be Becerra and Steyer. I plan on hearing club members opinions on both of them.

I've fairly made up my mind to vote for Steyer although Becerra is my first choice. RealClearPolitics has two polls showing Becerra ahead of Hilton and Steyer 2 - 5 points behind Hilton. One of the polls has an asterisk indicating it's likely a partisan poll. So going with the other poll, Becerra is four points ahead of Hilton and Steyer is 2 points behind Hilton. With Hilton and Steyer so close, I figure Becerra will be one of two candidates in the general election and if more Democrats who support Porter, Mahan, Villaraigosa, and Thurmond vote for Steyer we can get Steyer as the second spot in November.

I voted for Becerra. I spoke with a friend about my voting for Steyer hoping enough Democrats would do the same so we would have two Democrats in the general election. He made a good point that Becerra would decimate Hilton in the general election, because of the voter demographics, and that if Becerra and Steyer were the winning candidates Steyer's spending so much money might actually depress Democratic turnout enabling Hilton to win.
