So I can get my own ya-yas off? Now go ahead and tell me about 'expression' and 'artistic value' - n' all the rest ...

Editing: To be fair - I have seen stuff that has obvious artistic merit ... I have also seen plenty of times when some sleazeball tagged right over the top of a beautiful mural (that somebody really had put some artistic effort into .. )

But a lot of tagging is pretty much anything but ... And also carries the 'message' of neglect, run down, unwanted, sketchy and unsafe ... Which is why business, property owners and municipalities keep trying to 'clean up'.

And incidentally that is precisely the prelude to the story featured here. Mileage may vary, I suppose - but I'm not sure if what happened here is deserving of any real round of applause.

... and property owners are required to clean it up. About a third of it is gang graffiti.

One of our walls is adjacent city property on a foot path used by the local high school students so I'm very familiar with the problem.

If I sound flippant it's because it's not among my larger concerns.
