You rarely ever heard from him except for his commercials on the radio asking people to apply for positions at MCSO. I'm sure there's been some but I don't remember any major press conferences and there definitely weren't constant attempts by him to gin up needless media attention. Imo this was a much-needed relief after 20 years of Arpaio's showboating in an attempt to cover up his racist policies and awful leadership.

I even asked my millennial son, "What controversies have you heard about in the sheriffs office the last 4 years?"

Answer: NONE.
And the county didn't have to spend $140M of taxpayer dollars defending the RACIST policies of the criminal Arpaio.

Paul Penzone is a class act and a great sheriff for this county.
