Ivo Daalder
Former U.S. Ambassador to NATO
Tensions are rising in the Strait of Hormuz since the U.S. military saiud it "blew up" six small Iranian boats. Tehran launched "multiple cruise missiles, drones and small boats" at U.S. Navy ships and commercial vessels being protected by the U.S. military, according to the head of U.S. Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, who says he strongly advised Iranian forces to steer clear of U.S. military assets. Meanwhile negotiations do not appear to be making much headway, with the conflict now in its third month. Ivo Daalder, who served as U.S. Ambassador to NATO in the Obama administration, joins the show from Chicago to discuss.

Martin Luther King III
Civil Rights Activist
American democracy activists are expressing outrage at last week's decision by the U.S. Supreme Court, which slashed yet another key part of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. More than 60 years ago President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the bill into law. Its purpose was to prohibit racial discrimination in voting. Georgia Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock says the Supreme Court's ruling tarnishes the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., who was instrumental in pushing Congress to pass the landmark legislation. The late civil rights leader's son, Martin Luther King III — himself a civil rights activist — joins the show from Atlanta to reflect on the ruling's impact.

Jason Bordoff
Former Assistant to President Obama / Founding Dir., Columbia University Center on Global Energy Policy
The U.S. military is currently attempting to guide ships out of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's blockade on this crucial waterway has wreaked havoc on the global oil market, now faced with what energy expert Jason Bordoff calls "the largest supply disruption we've ever seen in history." In his recent Foreign Affairs article, Bordoff details how governments are reassessing their reliance on global energy markets, and why the full impact of this crisis haven't quite hit America — yet. Bordoff joins the show to discuss.
