(34,502 posts)I was sure I had seen all of DS9 but this did not ring a bell at all. Worf and Odo, what a pair.
I loved DS9.

And yes, I thought DS9 was the best of all of them-- plot and character development, backstory...
And rarely centered on the god-like commander like most of the others were. A Ferengi, a Klingon, and a shape shifter as key characters fully drawn? Whoever woulda thunk it?

(34,502 posts)I must have really spaced that part out! Been a long time. You can get it on Hulu but I have not checked it for a while. I cannot believe I missed that in the first episode!
I liked it too. It got awfully soap opera at the end and was kind of that way all the way through but not enough too but not enough to really distract me.
The characters were awesome.
I loved all the Star Trek, even Voyager to a point. The one that was made to be before all of them, Enterprise, was not that good I guess.
I totally agree that it was nice to not be focused on a god like commander. He certainly was that as the Emissary but the character took that more in stride than the other captains would have been written to do.

MuseRider
(34,502 posts)that I will love it. There was only one episode that I did not love. That was the episode where they were dealing with the Ferengi and the need for women to be naked. I cannot remember what happened, I have not seen it since the day it was on. It ended up with the one woman who said she would never do it taking one for the team and taking her clothes off. It felt very sexist and it felt abusive but I am sensitive to those issues and I felt like they threw women under the bus with that one.

(34,502 posts)I would say it was my favorite of all the Star Treks. I do love them all, part of my young teen days watching the first one whenever I was at someone's house on that night. Not a show my parents let us watch. The writing got better and DS9 was the best I thought. I am excited about Picard, it sounds interesting and we are waiting to get CBS (whatever that incarnation is called) simply for that show. Gonna trade something for the time that Picard is on.

If anyone has cbs all access there is a cute Short Trek that shows the creation of the tribble plague called The Trouble with Edward
