So as part of my artistic renaissance, I've decided to test myself...

I've been spending money like a drunken sailor on new gear lately (it's okay though, I still have 8x10 view camera levels of credit to burn ) so I decided to go full send and picked up a 10-20mm for my D7100, 15-30mm 35mm equivalent…glass that wide is pretty difficult to use well, and I'm looking forward to the challenge! Stay tuned…

(if you missed my renaissance so far, for therapeutic reasons I got some new gear and I've been putting it to decent use, to some encouraging reviews)

Get used to shooting HDR on it…I’ve found that’s the only way to deal with the weird meter readings you’ll get. When I still had an RB67 (7 pounds with standard lens and waist level finder) I bought a Tiltall tripod, which is great for using that lens.

Got a variable ND for it; one of the things I like to do is long-exposure running water, and I live very close to a gorgeous, rock-filled creek (Rock.Creek isn't just a name ) in a pretty pronounced, deep valley…I think you know where my mind is going.

Every review I've read is basically absolutely glowing, pretty much just a few niggles about being soft at maximum aperture and being made ENTIRELY out of plastic, including the actual lens mount…I don't doubt that an ultra wide can meter weird but I trust the 2,000-point matrix meter to handle things
