(The following is fiction.) NEWSFLASH: Moon falls from sky, lands on pine tree.

Two days after The Fall Blossom Moon, a local resident reported seeing the moon balanced on top of a pine tree. As he watched, The Moon slid onto another Pine, bending the top branches back.

We tried to ask the resident for more information, but after the sighting he lost interest and went in for breakfast, according to his indifferent parents. Further attempts to contact the witness were unsuccessful due to the disappearance of his social contacts and personal history.

We obtained the pictures he took (after much heated, and Expensive, negotiation with the parents, to whom their son allegedly emailed the pictures in case he was falsely accused
of blowing The Moon out of orbit) and present them here:

Once these one-of-a-kind images leaked from the internet we received so many calls
to the station our phone system collapsed. We reached out to nationwide lunar experts
who shudder at perplexities with The Moon's gravitational field. We know that objects on The
Moon weigh significantly less than on Earth, allowing astronauts to leap and move in a bouncy manner. This weaker gravity is due to The Moon's smaller mass.

But what if, say the talking heads, The Moon's sudden presence on Earth is not
accidental. What will be the consequences of our Moon's displacement in the
universe? Instant conspiracy theories abound.

All of which are based in misinformation, fear and panic.

Stay tuned to WWTF Eyewitless News for more on this ongoing earthshaking story.
And don't forget, at Eyewitless News, accuracy can't hold a candle to RATINGS!
The End.

Thanks for your tolerance,
George

Well, it is a very big rock. If it can move oceans to and from the shore, it can bend a few branches. Norrrm 8 hrs ago #2
