Incipient Dawn: Colorado River Canyons in Ambient Light (just one of the advantages of shooting RAW files)



The RAW file preview looked totally underexposed .. all black. I took this shot about 80 minutes before sunrise, with a mostly clear sky, so I knew that there was a little ambient light from the east. I was correct, and the data was there in the RAW file. A little tweaking in Lightroom, and voila!

I love that spot. We took our kids there and then rafted down the green river. Such great memories.
