Laurie's moving van. Works great!
Sunlight shadow on kitchen wall.
Hayfield, newly cut, bailed and stacked away in barn. Note Shadow hunting for field mice.
Late afternoon shadows on Laurie's GMC pickup.
The farm's perennial rosebush blooming now.
Springtime flower found in horse pasture.
Laurie made this costume in college for a play, circa 1973.

Neighbor's cows sought shade in yesterday's heat.
When they saw an unknown photographer they calmly returned to pasture.

(57,023 posts)years. But what you posted about the young family who'll be stewards of that land now, when you started posting here again - https://democraticunderground.com/1036143905 - shows you were very careful to sell to the right people.
And you're not moving into a city. You mentioned an acreage - about 9 acres (roughly the area of 3-4 city blocks in size) - which sounds ideal for you, Laurie, Shadow, KC and your two horses. My relatives who have a horse farm are planning a similar downsizing to an acreage someday.
Plus you'll be near Spokane and your family there. I didn't know anything about Spokane, didn't even have a rough idea of how large a city it is, but I've been reading about it and it sounds like a lovely city to be near - large enough to offer a lot, yet small enough to feel comfortable, manageable to get around in. And only a few hours from your farm via interstate, so visiting old friends and them coming to visit you won't be difficult.
A lot of positives there.

Love the cows, too. What can I say, I'm a sucker for critters!
