One of the first songs I heard from The Who. This young buck had never heard drums like this before at the Sock Hop.

Townshend wrote all the parts for each member to almost every song (thanks to Kit Lambert's influence), but he'd just write a basic outline for Moon because he said he couldn't possibly begin to write Moon's part. He was such an unbridled whirling dervish on a drum kit. His timing wasn't always perfect, but the band members always drew their cue from him. They adapted to each other perfectly.

The greatest rock band that's ever existed, in my opinion.

there is a part where some guy is trying to explain how Keith played the drums in a unique way, such as playing the bass with his left foot instead of the right and how he didn't really keep rhythm in a traditional way. What makes it great is that you can tell the guy is just getting frustrated because he can't understand how he did it! I think he even says at one point "He just didn't do it right!"

where he switches his dominate right foot bass pedal to his left foot mid-song.

I heard a guy describe that as being like a right-handed guitar player just flipping the guitar over mid-song and playing it left handed.
