The song was kept from reaching No. 1 by Olivia Newton-John's "Physical."

Back in the day, I heard a D.J. make a playful jest on the song's title. He recited it as "Waiting in the Grill for You."

I think this song is Foreigner's greatest work. Some critics hail "l Want to Know What Love Is" as being better, but I will stay with "Waiting for a Girl Like You" as my favorite.

Immediately " I Want to Know What Love Is " but I gotta admit the opening of this song makes my heart swell.
