Is it an oil painting? Is it large or small? How long did it take to paint?

It took about 3 weeks, working intermittently, letting it dry in stages. I don't sell or show my stuff; it's just for fun; I'll probably give this one to the photographer if he wants it.

Your painting takes me away to a gorgeous and peaceful summer day. Love your rendering of the field and the white flowering plants. Very nicely done!

What a beautiful piece. I especially like the way you handled the dark trees in the background. They give it an eerie feeling.

This is pretty and certainly needs the red headed woodpecker. Reminds me of the fields in WV.


Mine are usually more expressionist instead of realistic though. I love the Favists.

... and I love landscapes. I'm partial to watercolors, but they can be unforgiving. Being such vibrant and saturated colors, acrylics can be tough to tame. Your subtleties of tone are exquisite, and the light... damn, that's a nice painting.

If I can ever figure out how it's done, I'll post some of my work one of these days. I've been at it a while – 60 years in the profession – and I'm starting to get the hang of it.
