Junk fountain pens

I'm always looking for cheap damaged fountain pens. With my bad, aging eye sight I always carry a loop to see if the tips are marked 14K. They can scrap out $10 or more apiece.

My favorite annual antique show is coming up in March...I'll take a peek at the pens this time!

on this image the gold stamp is pretty large. They average about 1 penny weight.

Like other parts of the market, old pens are not what they use to be in price. Many times a yard sales and even in the malls you can find damage or wore out pens for a buck or two. Well worth looking over for that small "14K' stamp. Right now I have about a dozen, so next time I go to my favorite scrap buyer, I'll take them.

I will buy every "junk" pen with gold nib from you for a 50% premium over your ten buck junker price.

That isn't hyperbole. I am serious. 50% above the scrap value. PM me when you have them.

Usable or reusable antique items. I suppose some nibs are damaged beyond restoration, I've seen some pretty good fixes though. I bought an early Mabe Todd 18kt pen/pencil combo from a metals dealer for gold weight and tripled my money 1 week later to an advanced MT collector who had never seen this particular pen/pencil combo before...it came very close to scrapping. .

Let's see. What other reappropriations can we work out.
