can you help ID these pieces?

Two things I picked up yesterday at rummage:

1. a tin pail with a rounded bottom. I know that firemen's water buckets can have rounded bottoms, but this is too small for firefighting use. It's about eight inches diameter. Galvanized tin, with a tin handle.

2. a very small beautiful jadeite cup. Octagonal, translucent, with a handle. Almost the size of a child's tea set cup; about 1 1/2 inches tall. There is a mark on the bottom, but I can't make it out. It's not Jeanette or Anchor. It looks to be high quality.

Any thoughts on either of these? TIA.

The handle on mine is open, not closed. And the workmanship is finer...sharper lines delineate the sections and the material is way more transluscent.

But this is a good start for more research! Thank you so much.

I'm now confident this is from a child's set.

....they had a name, had never seen any like them. Mine are not a complete set, and in different colors: green, like the picture, blue, white, rusty red.

You will find many different listings there. I was amazed.
