there it sits.

(131,909 posts)that I'm not using and don't know what to do with. So it just sits there for years because I'm too lazy to sort the stuff out and give it away or throw it away or whatever.

(1,040 posts)Too big to toss. Maybe I'll need it some time in the future? -- isn't that how we get in this predicament.

(1,486 posts)I live in a townhouse/condo and I have a tandem parking space in a covered carport. I do have an outdoor closed in front of the parking space. In their I have a large ice cooler that I haven't used in years but for some reason I always think I'm going to need it when I think of throwing it out so I guess it stays there.

(1,210 posts)You have to fill them with kitty litter to soak up any paint and then leave them open beside your trash cans for the garbage service to take them away. But they are so old that they are rusted shut. So, they sit.
Also a pop-up tent that is too complex for me to pop-up. It is destined for garbage day.

(77,725 posts)I quit using it in 1988. (Bought an Apex stand.)
I've also got a Marshall amp, but my main amp is a Boogie & since I don't perform anymore I don't need a second amp.
Not sure why I haven't gotten rid of them.

(77,725 posts)I still have all my keyboard gear & I only use one for recording. But, I haven't shed those either.
I actually play most of my 15 guitars regularly & they also serve as wall art in the rec room.

(5,237 posts)The first thing that comes to mind is the shell shaped punch bowl that was given to me. I think we've used it maybe all of about 4 times in the past fifteen years. Also all the stuff my dhs' folks gave us. They decided to move to NC to be closer to my sister in law and gave us a bunch of stuff really didn't want. I joke they thought we moved into a 3300sq. ft, not a 1300 sq ft house.

(37,208 posts)One is a 22 ft tandem boat, the other an 18 ft solo. They are sixty percent completed, but the remaining bits are fiddly. I really wanted to finish those boats years ago, but life intervened. I might still finish them, or at least one, but I'm 71 and, lacking these boats, have not yet wet my feet in a sea kayak. Not even once. But I can't let them go. Old photo-- they're in a real garage now:
