OMG laughing my ass off here.

Leased a new car the other day. Leased it at a local dealer. 36 month lease. 10,000 miles per year. I'm picking it up in a few hours.

I had requested another lease quote from a dealer 90 minutes away, but it never arrived. Until just now, via email. Their lease quote is $70/month cheaper than what I agreed to with the local dealer.

So I just called the local salesman, 3 hours before I'm supposed to put my old plates on the new car, and said "Hey listen, I just got this quote from Syracuse (90 minutes away), and it's $70/month cheaper than your quote. That's somewhere around $2,500 over the life of the lease. What's up with that"?

His response..."Uh...I'll get right back to you".

Can't wait to see how this plays out after the new car locally is probably already prepped and ready to go out the door.

The local car has more stuff on it and the sticker price is $900 more than the one in Syracuse.

However, two things happened:

1) We quoted you based on an assumed credit rating, and when we checked your credit, it was superb, so we can lower your lease payment.

2) We made a small mathematical error when we quoted you the lease payment.

So, we will be lowering your quoted lease payment by $50 a month, or $1,800 over the life of the lease. The car is ready to be picked up.

My comment for this post: It is much more convenient to buy the car locally, so I think I did alright here!

Yay!!

I said "A free cow? I don't have any room for a free cow! Also, I don't know how to take care of a cow"!

The dealer said "That's your problem, not mine".

by the horns!

Did you know I made that saying up, Harker? Grab the bull by the horns? I made that saying up, and it went "viral".

I bet you didn't know that!

I still can't understand why my "grab the cow by the horns" never caught on.
