The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI ordered a Jacuzzi tub for the other bathroom. Besides waiting forever the plumbers came
yesterday and said that I had black mold under the old tiles. The total cost of the tub was going to be $22,000 (This is a small middle class house, nothing fancy but I wanted the Jacuzzi because of physical problems in my back that I have been having.
The mold guy who came here this morning just said it would cost, '$750 to test to see if it is really mold. I just told him to forget it and I'd have the tiles put back up. So then he mentions that I can go to Home Depot and get a test for about $50.
It pays to ask questions and not to just believe what people are saying. I don't know what the test will reveal but I will also go in there and cover the area, which is small with spray adhesive, (or hair spray.....same thing) and get someone over here to put the tiles back. I don't need a new bath!

If you can do some of the work yourself botaniclean kills mold. It is thyme based. But wear a mask and scrub air while you clean.

And I think spraying on an adhesive would also take care of the problem. If the mold, (if that is what it is) can't move it can't get into the air.
